
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She plays as a striker and captains for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the top level of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe between 2018 until 2020. [8][99 Morgan was drafted as the number one player in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she was able to graduate early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. She made her professional debut at the club , and also helped the team win its league championship. Morgan 22, then 22 years old, was the youngest national player to play at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011, where she was second. In the 123rd minutes of the semi-final match against Canada at the 2012 London Olympics she scored the game-winning goal. The 2012 season ended with 21 goals and 28 assists and was able to join Mia Hamm as the only American woman to score 20 goals and record 20 assists in the same calendar year . making her the sixth and youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in a single season. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year Morgan was also an FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan played a key role in the United States winning their titles at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup. She was named to both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
